Open Question: Can I “bench” my husband of 23 years?
This is long, and close to no one will read it, but it explains why I want to bench my husband.

I don’t want a divorce from my husband. It’s just that, to use a sports term, after 23 years, his head is never “in the game”. The game being marriage and family. He works, he comes home, he watches TV, he dirties towels, sheets and dishes. On the weekends he mows the grass and has a beer. He does just enough chores around the house to keep himself from being too useful.

We don’t celebrate anything, go anywhere or do anything but occasionally go out to eat on a Saturday. We’ve never vacationed without staying with a family member or with family.

Other than his highly thought out fishing plans, our vacations are glued together, slip-shod, rigged and usually end up boring with rigor mortis setting in by day two. By now I just plan on bringing novels and puzzle books. If I hear the words, “If all else fails…” pertaining to our vacation one more time, I’ll puke.

My 40th birthday arrived with him at the end of the driveway calling our neighbor and her grandchildren to come have “cake”.

He always waits for my cues around the house. If I decided to do yardwork, he’s out there right beside me. If I read, he’s right there beside me. He does very little without some kind of cue from me. I’ve tried to out wit him and have waited weekend after weekedn staring at each other in bitter boredom.

I’ve also tried to plan things that we can do together. He just doesn’t seem to get it. He plans, charts and maps out elaborate fishing trip/vacations for days, but won’t plan on doing anything with me.

I’m weary of his clueless behavior. I’m tired of thinking of things for us to do together. I’m tired of weekend plans that never quite get off the ground.

The last thing I thought of for us to do, he was working an angle on how he could get one of my friends to do the activity with me less that a day after we’d invested in the activity. When I called him on it, he didn’t deny it. Unfortunately, the money was already spent.

I’m beginning to think that for all else, he’s, well…”Just not that into me”.

My landmark decision to return to college has been met with an apathetic, “If that’s what you really want to do.” After all this time, I wanted him to be excited for me. I wanted him to buy me my own laptop to do my papers and research. I wanted him to tease with me about sleeping with a “college girl”. Instead, he has retreated even more to the TV and his bedroom although I have made open attempts to schedule at least two hours a day to spend with him either watching TV, or reading or doing whatever. He doesn’t seem to care.

Can I move on without him but still stay with him?

Open Question: My Father Is INSANE! Help! He never talks to me or my mom!?
it all started when we were all happy as a family coming back from somewhere as we were on the ferry. When we were in the car driving back home then he started not to talk to my mom and not form any communication as he sounded very pissed off for no reason.

From then on he started to stay away from my mom and not talk to her at all. He still lived in the house though and did the work around the house he had to do. He was fired from his job a year before this and I don’t think he did anything bad in the job. Anyways then later on he started to live in the vacant apartment downstairs in our house. He soon locked the door with nails with a hammer so we couldn’t come in to talk to him. He started to avoid my mom and not talk to her anymore.

He lived downstairs and came upstairs usually to get the food to eat. When my mom left the house he just came upstairs and talked to me alot in a very good manner. He wasn’t a very hardcore father. When I was younger he took me to alot of places outdoor and taught me alot of stuff. Those times were when I was around from one to 11 years old. Back to the story. Now later on he started to not ever drive his car again. He never took me anywhere. In Grade 8 he was supposed to pick me up afterschool and I had to wait for 2 hours until someone came to pick me up because he didn’t come and pick me up. I’m going into grade 10 now and through Grade 9 – This Summer I’ve started to treated my dad like shit and been really mad at the way he treats my mom. He never talks to her and always lives and sleeps downstairs. He’s made her cry alot when she tried to go outside his door downstairs (its locked) and confront him to stop this and let us be a family again. He only talked to me. I still treated him bad because he really made me mad for what he did to me and what a bad father he was being to me. On my mom’s side of the family when my mom went to India last month for vacation she parked her car in my grandparents house (in canada). My dad didn’t approve of this.

Even though he never drove for alot of years he went to my grandparents house and just exchanged my truck for that car and drove it back here. It was because my dad didn’t want my cousin who have the ride because he found that my cousin wasn’t trusted or something. Note that my cousin is a very good man being 26 and not a bad person at all. Now I go to the airport last week to pick up my grandparents because they came back from somewhere and then my and my mom go to my grandparents house to have a nice hang out with my cousins and my grandparents. (Obviously we don’t ask my dad to come because he never talks to my mom and hasn’t for the past 2 years).

So now we come back home after the little family party at my grandparents house and we see that my dad trashed the entire place for no reason. He threw the chairs down in the living and dining room. He threw some pillows down too. I was scared. Next day he doesen’t talk to me at all when my mom leaves the house to go to my grandparents. He just comes upstairs to get the syrup and runs back downstairs from me when I try to talk to him. He has a mean face always now. he acts the same way now that he treats my mom. He treats me the same now. He’s always quiet to my mom. I’m sad. Please help me. I don’t know what to do. I actually want my dad to be at my graduation and wedding. I want a real dad. Please help.

Mold In Your Home

There are a lot of things to look out for when buying a new house. Generally the things to check on include things as location, plumbing, wiring, the condition of the roof, and many other factors. One commonly overlooked factor is mold in the home.

There are many types of mold that can grow in a home. Mold causes not only structural problems, but also potential health problems to you and your family. Mold is difficult to locate as it resides in dark damp areas that are usually in attics, crawl spaces and basements where there are existing problems with ventilation and water leaks.

When mold becomes visible on the homes interior, it’s time to call in the professionals. It is highly likely that if the mold is visible, the structural components of the home are likely covered in mold. A professional certified in mold can treat and make the needed repairs to remove the mold from the home.

As previously stated, mold is likely to form where wet areas exist that are not well ventilated. Other sources of problems from mold happen if the interior of the home is flooded and not properly cleaned up afterwards. Busted and leaky pipes or plumbing fixtures in the kitchens and bathrooms as well as wet basements are also bog areas of concern.

When an inspector checks your home, he may use a moisture meter or a thermal imaging camera. Tools like these allow the inspector to find moisture problems that may not be visible with the naked eye. If moisture levels of 20% or higher are discovered in the home mold could be present as this is an ideal situation for mold to grow.

Final Remarks

If you feel your home is home may have mold, or has had mold in the past, it would be wise to have a certified mold inspector inspect your home once a year. This proactive measure will allow you to save money on by avoiding repair costs and will help keep you family healthy.

If you are ready to look at Atlanta new homes for sale, you have to know where to search. Not all homes are obvious without having some tricks up your sleeve.

The most important thing to remember first is that you really want to use the free services of a buyers agent who knows the Atlanta real estate market well. A buyers agent offers their expertise at no cost to the buyer! That is a great deal.

Make sure that you only work with an agent who really knows the area as well as how to make a good offer in Atlanta. Otherwise, it can cost you time and money in the long run. The Georgia real estate contracts are detailed and can be complex. Working with a highly trained, experienced agent will be important.

The current real estate market in Atlanta has allowed the deals on new homes to become plentiful. Due to the recent changes in the number of foreclosures nationwide, many home builders were shocked by the market changes and are left with standing inventory.

So what does this mean for a home buyer?

The first thing it means is that many builders are very willing to negotiate now as opposed to in recent years. Builders needs to get their inventory sold and off their books, so they will often work with you on providing a great deal and extra incentives.

Next, you might find a builder who is having financial trouble and will be ready to give a steep discount on the price. Perhaps the builder’s lender will work on a short sale which can further drive down the price.

To reiterate, an experienced agent will know what questions to ask to make the very best offer for a buyer. The most important points are to know where to find these types of deals, what questions to ask the builder, how best to negotiate the deal and how to bring it to a successful closing.

Why To Buy Big Bear Homes

It’s easy to understand why Big Bear homes have many different appeals to many different people. A lot of people who buy up here remember their vacations in Big Bear Lake, CA and want to pass on the family tradition.

Others come for the winter and summer sports like skiing, biking, boating and fishing. Still others are attracted by the peace that this community brings in contrast to the fast-pace of city life. But one thing is for sure, Big Bear definitely has it all.

Bear Mountain And Snow Summit ski resorts are both located in Big Bear Lake. These top southern California getaway resorts are a short drive from most So Cal cities and are also position right in the middle of Bear Valley. So no matter where you live in Big Bear Lake, you are never far from the resorts. Big Bear is the best spot for a snowy Christmas.

And when the snowfall is a bit less than usual, the resorts are always packing on more and more man-made snow. And don’t ever worry too much about the road conditions. Though the roads may take a beating from mother nature, the city plows are all over it, immediately. Often the roads are clear before you’ve even had your morning coffee because the drivers hit the pavement as soon as possible.

But Big Bear has a full four seasoned year. The summer is wonderful as well. Big Bear Lake is open to the public, and there are plenty of opportunities for hiking, biking and off-roading too. Unlike Lake Arrowhead, all visitors are welcome to make use of Big Bear Lake.

You can launch your boat for free and park your car for free and go fishing all day long. Big Bear Lake has some massive fish swimming around in its deep blue water. And the city is continuously refreshing the fish supply ever new season.

Big Bear Lake, CA is an amazing place to have a home for vacation or permanent residence. I can’t say enough good things about this wonderful valley community nestled in the San Bernadino Mountains.

Please visit any time ou have the chance and you will see just what I mean. You might love it so much that you want to live up here for good. Big Bear Lake is always happy to welcome a new neighbor.

How To Do Real Estate Internet Marketing

Real estate internet marketing is not always the easiest thing to do. There are a lot of things involved, when it comes to marketing yourself. You have to build a network in order to do well in an industry that requires that you pick up your own clients.

With some individuals, there have been the bad experiences with the internet. At times things happen that deter people from wanting to use the internet. The internet however, should not looked upon as a negative thing but as a place to generate leads.

Losing potential clients due to them not understanding how to use your site is one of the worst things that you can do. The website that you have should be something that is easy to use and does not require the person to be a genius in order for them to use it. Additionally, the site should not have things going in all directions. You don’t want a person to leave yours site because they can’t stand the way that it looks.

In your site you should have a resource section for potential clients and for increasing website ranking. Keep this information as well as your sites information regularly update. Continuously check for any mistakes that you are making with your advertising.

Remaining active within the online community is important as a way to grow. When you blog and join forums, others start to get to know you. As people start to trust and respect you, the chances of getting clients from networking becomes higher.

Blogging regularly is a great way to get clients over to your website. Another way to consider it writing and publishing articles. Most people do not realize but these are a great marketing tool. With time, you will see things start to get easier when it comes to real estate internet marketing.

Don’t get discouraged if you don’t see results right away. Most will not see immediate results, but will over time. Marketing is the type of thing that gives back what you put in. So it is very likely that all the time and hard work that you put in will pay off in the end. Just have patience and don’t expect the phone to start ringing off the wall or people lined up at your door, since that is not going to happen.

Make sure whatever kind of house paint that you buy matches up with your existing paint. Maybe take a picture or find out exactly what kind of paint you have in your beach house right now so that when you go to the hardware store, you can show them exactly what you need. Or better yet bring home some paint samples to see how they look in the natural light of your beach home.

Take a look around at the different types of paint that are available for you to buy in the store. You will quickly notice that paint varies in quality drastically and you generally get what you pay for. Granted, you have to make sure that you’re not getting ripped off and you really are getting a good deal, but if unless you want to paint the interior of your beach house every couple of years, try to buy the best type of paint that you can afford. It will last a lot longer and will likely save you money in the long run.

It’s okay if you don’t know everything about home remodeling. Some people do it for a living. Builders, contractors, subcontractors and other home decorators might be able to give you some words of wisdom and help that you might not be able to get otherwise. Don’t be afraid to ask. Purchasing A Waterfront Home In The Winter

Looking for a bargain on waterfront real estate? The winter is a great time to get out in the market and find motivated sellers. In addition, you can save money on other expenses like appraisals and home inspections.

We are all distracted during the wintertime. With Christmas and New Years approaching, real estate shoppers are busy with holiday shopping, decorating, and parties. It is also hard to get real estate shoppers out in cold weather to look at waterfront real estate. Therefore, your offers will have less competition.

If a seller still has a waterfront home on the market that is held over from the summer, they will likely be more motivated to hear your offer. If the seller feels he can’t wait till next summer for more offers they may be inclined to accept a lower offer.

During the winter, every lead becomes more important to the real estate agent. As the number of potential buyers dwindle, agents are more apt to give every potential buyer their best possible service. They tend to be open to lower offers especially if the waterfront home has been on the market 6-12 months.

Lenders and mortgage brokers tend to lighten up qualifications during the winter months. When applicants are plentiful, lenders tend to cast border line applicants aside for more qualified home buyers.

Appraisers and home inspectors need work. During peak buying seasons, appraisers and home inspectors may have a week or longer backlog. During the winter you can easily find an appraiser and home inspector that can get out to the property within one or two days and usually for less money. Some maybe willing to go out the same day!

So why not get out there and start looking for some waterfront real estate bargains. Make a lot of offers. Don’t wait for the summer to come back in just to find that your offers are lost in the crowd. Be proactive and find those motivated sellers.

The Benefits Of Utah Rental Homes

There are some who believe that renting a house in Utah is not the best way to use your money while others see the benefits of Utah rental homes. Some benefits include being able to live in a place where you don’t have to pay for maintenance repairs and extra amenities as a tenant. Utah property management KeyRenter acts as a landlord for many Utah rental homes.

KeyRenter helps tenants find Utah rental homes to live in and to help them realize the benefits of renting over buying a home. Renting can help a person save up money to make a future down payment on a home. You may not be able to build equity when you rent a home, but you’ll still be able to save money since you don’t have to pay for extra costs.

Renting a home tends to be cheaper than paying for a mortgage on a home you own. This is because the home is usually bigger since a person buys a convenient amount to grow. Whereas a rental home is smaller for the purpose of saving money for purchasing a home.

If they were trying to buy a home, they’d have to pay for the down payment and apply for a mortgage. Once they do own the home, they have to maintain it and pay taxes and fees on it. It all builds up if someone is not financially prepared for it.

An advantage of renting is that there is no or little maintenance work done by the tenant. The biggest thing a tenant might have to do is change a light bulb. The landlord or Utah property management is in charge of maintenance and can do repairs such as plumbing or clogged drains. Sometimes tenants don’t have to be in charge of the yard work either.

The landlord will usually do yard work themselves or pay someone to do it for the rental property. This saves you a lot of time as a renter to not have to worry about doing the lawn or maintaining any repairs on the house. Just one phone call to the landlord or Utah property management will get it all covered.
